On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration, the Foundation published the book “Un changement d’espérance – La déclaration du 9 mai 1950”. The book reproduces facsimiles of archival material held at the Foundation.
These documents enable us to assess the political significance of the Schuman Declaration, from its conception to its implementation. These include the Franco-British Declaration of Union of 16 June 1940, the balance-sheet of the summer of 1941, the Algiers Note of August 1943 and the nine versions of the Schuman Declaration of 9 May 1950 drawn up in April 1950.
The book is illustrated by numerous iconographic documents and other facsimiles from other archives.
