Partnerships

Academic partnerships

The Foundation has concluded agreements with the University of Lausanne. This close collaboration has further developed in recent years with the teachings offered by the Foundation and the fact that visitors and personalities visiting the Foundation participate in public events on the university campus.

The Foundation also collaborates with the Swiss Institute of Comparative Law in the management of the European Documentation Centre.

The Foundation also has partnerships with the Economica publishing house in Paris for the publication of the Cahiers rouges, the Jacques Delors Institute, the University of Luxembourg and the Maison de l’histoire européenne.

Partnerships are finally formed on various occasions, including the University of Cergy-Pontoise, the Jean Monnet Association, the Swiss Association Rencontres suisses – Nouvelle société suisse, the Swiss Foreign Policy Association, the New European Movement Switzerland (NOMES), the History of European Integration Research Society (HEIRS) and the International Network of Young Researchers in the History of European Integration (RICHIE).

Finance and support

The total annual budget of the Foundation is about 1.4 million francs. It is approximately 90% financed by grants from the State of Vaud, the Swiss Confederation and the City of Lausanne.

The Foundation has been able to develop:

• thanks to the collaboration of Europe’s protagonists, the work of students and researchers and various personalities from the world of reflection and action,
• thanks to the political and financial support of the State of Vaud, the City and University of Lausanne, and the Swiss Confederation, and to the support of hundreds of private donors who have made it possible to build up the equity capital needed to guarantee the Foundation’s independence, a condition for the arrival in Switzerland of the European Union’s historical archives of birth and development,
• and in recent years, thanks to the generous support of sponsors who make it possible to organize meetings, debates, symposia and conferences.

The Foundation’s financial statements can be consulted in its annual activity reports.
