The Red Books

The “Cahiers rouges” collection was initiated by Henri Rieben when he founded the European Research Centre in Lausanne in 1957 to disseminate the results of research work, particularly that of his doctoral students. To date, there are 216 Red Papers on various subjects, constituting collections of sources, monographs or conference proceedings.

The Cahiers rouges collection covers a wide range of subjects, from studies on the life and work of Jean Monnet to subjects such as relations between Switzerland and Europe.

The Debates and Documents Collection

In spring 2014, the Foundation launched its series of lightweight publications entitled Debates and Documents Series.

Complementary to the Red Book Series collection, this new series aims to contribute to the reflection and debate on European issues and to highlight certain elements of the Foundation’s documentary heritage. It has about two issues per year.

Other publications within the framework of the Foundation

Gilles Grin, Director of the Foundation since 1 July 2012, previously Deputy Director since 2006, has published contributions in books, written numerous articles and reviewed a whole series of books. On the other hand, some members of the Foundation’s organs are also authors, notably in the “Cahiers rouges” collection.
