History teaching in Europe and Switzerland (2024)

On Tuesday 25 June 2024, the Foundation organised a dialogue on the teaching of history in Europe and Switzerland with Alain Lamassoure, President of the Observatory for History Teaching in Europe (Council of Europe), former Minister of the French Republic and Member of the European Parliament, Dominique Dirlewanger, president of the Conférence cantonale des chefs de file d’histoire dans les gymnases vaudois and Olivier Meuwly, doctor of law and history, columnist for Le Temps newspaper, head of the History series in the Le Savoir suisse collection (PPUR) and member of the committee of the Société d’histoire de la Suisse romande.

This was followed by a discussion with Gilles Grin, Director of the Foundation, and Lucie Du Pasquier, Head of Scientific Expertise and Publications, as well as questions from the audience.

The event took place on the campus of the University of Lausanne and was broadcast live on YouTube.
