European challenges and Swiss-European relations (2021)

On 30 November 2021, the Foundation organised, in partnership with the Swiss Foreign Policy Association (APG-SPA), a dialogue on “European Challenges and Swiss-European Relations“.

Petros Mavromichalis, Ambassador of the European Union to Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein, launched the dialogue with a lecture on “Europe’s challenges and their implications for EU-Swiss relations”.

This lecture was followed by an intervention by each ambassador, Hedda Samson, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Bern, Willy De Buck, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium in Bern and Jean-Claude Meyer, Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in Bern on “Building Europe through four personal experiences“.

Jacques de Watteville, Vice-President of the Foundation and former Secretary of State of the Swiss Confederation, then opened the debate with the audience.

The event, which began with an introductory speech by Christa Markwalder, National Councillor and President of the Swiss Foreign Policy Association, was held on the campus of the University of Lausanne and live on YouTube.
