On 20 October 2022, Michel Foucher, geographer, essayist and former French ambassador held a conference on the theme of “Ukraine and the challenge of its borders”. His Atlas des mondes francophones, published in 2020, was awarded the Grand Prix du rayonnement de la langue et de la littérature françaises by the Académie française in 2021.
This conference was organised by the Institute of Geography and Sustainability of the University of Lausanne, the French Embassy in Switzerland and Liechtenstein and our Foundation.
The event was held on the campus of the University of Lausanne as well as live.
