On Friday 8 November 2019, the Foundation organised, in partnership with the daily newspaper
Le Temps and with the support of the University of Lausanne, a dialogue on the theme “France and European integration”. The event was held on the university campus with an audience of 120 people from the diplomatic and academic worlds, as well as the student body.
The debate, which brought together Pascal Fontaine, Vice-President of the Foundation, Honorary Director of the European Parliament and former Professor at the Institut d’Études Politiques de Paris, Hélène Conway-Mouret, Vice-President of the Senate and former Minister of the French Republic, Éric Roussel, historian, writer and member of the Institut de France, and Richard Werly, correspondent France / European affairs for Le Temps, addressed this issue from different perspectives: security and defence, history and current issues.
The keynote addresses by the speakers were followed by an exchange between them and then a question-and-answer session with the public. The animation was provided by Pascal Fontaine.
