On 31 January 2019, State Secretary and Director of the Directorate of European Affairs Roberto Balzaretti held a conference on the theme “Switzerland-EU relations: prospects”. The event, jointly organised by the Foundation and the Centre de droit de l’entreprise de l’Université de Lausanne (CEDIDAC), was held on the Unil campus, bringing together around 320 people from the worlds of politics, academia and the student body. Mr. Balzaretti’s lecture was followed by a question-and-answer session
After the introductory and contextual remarks by Gilles Grin, Director of the Foundation, and Damiano Canapa, Professor at Unil and Director of CEDIDAC, Roberto Balzaretti returned to the current context of relations between Switzerland and the European Union. Marked by the negotiation of an institutional framework agreement, the Secretary of State recalled the interest for Switzerland and the European Union of such a text, while underlining the specificities that it is a question of guaranteeing for Switzerland.
